Sandy Beach is located on East Shore Road in Morris, CT.
The beach is operated by the Sandy Beach Commission which is
comprised of members from the towns of Morris and Litchfield.
The property and buildings are owned by the White Memorial Foundation.

Sandy Beach offers  a beautiful sandy beach with lifeguard protected swimming,
swim instructions, changing rooms, volleyball, basketball, lakeside access to boaters,
shady picnic areas, a canoe launch, a snack shack, fishing areas, and a float with slide.

Open Daily: Memorial Day until Labor Day
Hours: 9:00 a.m.  - 7:00 p.m.

Season or daily passes available at the Litchfield
and Morris Town Halls and at the beach.              
$65 ~ Resident family - $85 ~Non-resident family
 Admission fees: $5.00 weekdays per car or boat
$15.00  weekends per car or boat
$1.00 per hiker or bike

From Litchfield: Alain White Rd.- turn right onto East Shore Rd.
                        From Morris: Alain White Rd. - turn left onto East Shore Rd.

Sandy Beach Swim Lessons:
Children must be five years old or eligible for Kindergarten to enroll.  
Patrons enrolling children in lessons will need a season's pass.
 Passes are available at the Litchfield and Morris Town Halls and at the beach.  
Fees for lessons are $10 per child per two week session.

15th Annual Sandy Beach Triathlon
Friday, July 29 ~ 5:00 p.m.
Registration from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

The 15th annual Sandy Beach Triathlon is slated to go Friday, July 29th at 5:00 p.m.
This event will be sending individuals and relays teams on a half-mile swim;
10 mile bike ride and a 5K (3.1 miles) run starting and finishing
at Bantam Lake’s Sandy Beach along East Shore Road in Morris, CT.
The triathlon is presented by the Sandy Beach Association
and the Litchfield Parks and Recreation Department.
Last year over 100 people braved the lake and the roads in an event
which is beginning to draw competitors from all over the state,
 region and country. “It’s the little triathlon that could,”
 says Litchfield Parks & Recreation Director Brent Hawkins.
Registration for the event begins at Sandy Beach at 3:30 p.m. on the day of the event.

at, go to the departments and click on the Recreation link,
then go to “registration” form, click on “Sandy Beach Triathlon.”

There are awards for age groups for individuals:
15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59 and 60 and over;
and for relay teams in the male, female and mixed divisions.
You add up the ages of all competitors on your team
 to get the total age of your relay team.
Entry fees are $70 per person or $110 per team.
