There is a new Walking program at Litchfield Parks and Recreation's
home in the Bantam Gym, Monday and Tuesday mornings
from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. The program is free!
The program is great of adults and seniors as well!
Come and enjoy indoor walking in the winter.
Stay fit during those cold winter months!
Walk for your health and meet some great new friends!
The program has begun, but is welcoming new members every session.

Pilobolus "Connecting with Balance"

Connecting with Balance is a 12 week program focusing on using
movement and dance to maintain and improve dynamic balance.
Participants will work with Pilobolus Teaching Artists
 on creating connections with their own creativity.
This class is open to all levels of ability-even
to those who remain seated throughout.

Tai Chi

Special FREE 12 Week Tai Chi session, twice a week!
These classes are designed based on the Tai Chi principle
and will include warm-ups, Tai Chi movements and discussion.
Based on ancient Chinese Tai Chi uses gentle flowing motions
 to strengthen the body, relax the mind and reduce the risk of falls.
Session runs from March 21 - June 13 ~ (No Class April 14th)
Classes are on Tuesdays and Fridays ~ 12:30 -1:30 p.m.

Intermediate Duplicate Bridge Lessons
"Essential Conventions"

Begins June 6, 2017
Intent: to introduce the majority of modern conventions to the
beginner duplicate bridge player. The course will be divided into two parts -
the must have conventions and then, time permitting, intermediate conventions.
Part I: Review of "natural" standard bidding, (SAYC -
Standard American Yellow Card), Filling in your convention card

Part II Beginners: Stayman over No Trump, Jacoby Transfers
over No Trump, Gerber No Trump, Blackwood Suit Slam Bidding,
Strong Two Club opening, Weak two opening,
Takeout Double, Standard Carding

Part III Intermediate: Negative Doubles, Texas Transfers over No Trump,
Limit Raises, Jacoby 2NT, Splinter Bids, Roman Keycard Blackwood,
Control Cue bid, Michaels/Gestehm Cue Bid, Defense Over No Trump (DONT)

Each lesson will be accompanied by a handout.
The first 1 1/2 hrs will be instruction
and the last 1/2 hr will be exercises and samples.

Introduction to Mosaics

8 Week Session ~ Tuesdays, June 13 - August 8, 6-8pm
No class July 4th ~ All Materials Provided
Explore the exciting world of the ancient art of mosaics. This
introductory class will explore the direct method using vitreous glass.

We will discuss the history of mosaics and
 review the mosaic color palette, the importance of tile shape
 and incorporate some of the ancient patterns of laying
the tesserae. Special attention will be placed on the
 step by step process of completing the piece to final grouting.

Instructor, Joanna Micknak is a graduate of Nova Scotia College of Art
and Design in Canada, with a Fine Arts Degree. Viewing some of the
most breathtaking mosaics in Italy compelled her to research and
explore the ancient art form of Mosaics. From that point,
Mosaics became her passion for artistic expression.
